2) War Resisters: Ryan Johnson and Cliff Cornell Come to Calgary
American Refugee? What is that ? This is a term which is being applied to
American soldiers who refuse to fight in Iraq and have come to Canada. There
are 15 soldiers seeking refugee status today in Canada. Please join us as
we hear the stories of 2 of these soldiers, who are being forced to fight
a war they don't believe is legal, just or right.

November 16 Coalition will provide bus transportation to the September 24
demonstration in Toronto.
The buses will leave Wentworth House at the Sterling Street entrance to
Mcmaster university at 10 am on Saturday, September 24. We will stop for
the usual lovely brunch at the Steelworkers' Hall in Toronto and, after
hearing songs and speeches, will join the main march at 1 pm at Toronto
City Hall. The buses will return after the demonstration to Wentworth House.
The cost will be $10. (No shows will be followed up to pay for their seats.)

1 400 soldats canadiens à Kandahar en Afghanistan pour aller tuer des "vermines"

agressif de plus en plus grand entre le Canada et les États-Unis sous le

On September 24 there will be major rally in Washington D.C. calling for
U.S. troops to withdraw from Iraq. There will be solidarity actions internationally,
and across Canada.
In Vancouver, StopWar.ca is organizing an extended weekend of anti-war action.

Nicolas Kent, Artistic Director of Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn, London,
is best known as the driving force behind the "tribunal" plays, dramatizations
of edited extracts of court or tribunal transcripts. Past plays include
Half the Picture, a reconstruction of the Scott inquiry into the arms to
Iraq affair; The Colour of Justice, created from the investigation into
the wrongful death of Stephen Lawrence; Justifying Death, based on the Hutton
Inquiry into the death of Dr. David Kelly, as well as Srebenica and excerpts
from the Nuremberg war crime trials. Most recently, Guantánamo: Honour Bound
to Defend Freedom - created from new interviews with detainees, their relatives
and lawyers as well as public testimonials by politicians and commentators
- transferred to Broadway and continues to tour to Tucson (Arizona), Boston,
New Zealand, Italy, Sweden, Germany and London (UK).

Put it to the politicians! A day of letter writing, faxing, emails of phone
calls to elected officials, focusing on holding the federal government accountable
for Canada's stepped up racist rhetoric and troop presence in Afghanistan,
its ongoing central role in the coup and regime change in Haiti, and its
refusal to make Canada a refuge for U.S. soldiers who refuse to participate
in the illegal occupation of Iraq.
