Emergency Resolution to Call for a Stop to the Attacks on Gaza

Whereas, there have been numerous attacks on civilians in Gaza including the tank shelling of the residential neighbourhood of Beit Hanoun, Gaza Strip killing at least 18 people, including eight children, in their sleep.

Whereas, this is part of an ongoing military campaign by the government of Israel which has killed hundreds of civilians in Gaza this year.

Therefore:

Be it resolved that the Canadian Peace Alliance member groups call on the government of Canada to condemn the government of Israel and call for an end to all attacks on the people of Gaza;

Be it further resolved that the CPA call on CPA member groups to prepare for a response to this ongoing humanitarian crisis and mobilize emergency demonstrations to end the killing;

Be it further resolved that the CPA supports the international day of action called on December 2, 2006.
