Resolution on Canadian Foreign Policy

Whereas Canadian foreign policy is being implemented without Canadian public input or Parliamentary debate;

And whereas Canadian foreign policy is more deeply integrating Canada into a U.S.- style militarization, taking us away from our traditional peacekeeping role;

And whereas this has led to Canadian complicity in the invasion and occupation of Iraq, rejection of a democratically elected government in Palestine and the drive to invade Iran;

Therefore be it resolved that The Canadian Peace Alliance urge the Government of Canada to hold public hearings on Canadian foreign policy;

Be it further resolved that the CPA encourage its member groups to hold their own public hearings on Foreign policy.
