Harper complicit in death of Canadian UN observer:
Canadian Peace Alliance supports protests this Sat. July 29
July 26, 2006
Another Canadian has been killed by Israeli bombing in Lebanon. This time
the victim was one of four UN observors killed in Lebanon by what UN head
Kofi Annan characterized as an "apparently deliberate" attack.
"These latest deaths as a result of Israeli bombing only make Harper's refusal
to criticize Israel more inexcusable," explained Canadian Peace Alliance
coordinator Sid Lacombe.
"The 'measured' response that Harper asserted Israel was undertaking has
now claimed nearly 400 Lebanese civilian lives, as well as dozens of Palestinians
as part of the ongoing siege of Gaza."
The Canadian Peace Alliance, the largest network of peace coalitions and
organizations in Canada, is adding its endorsement to protests that will
be taking place this Saturday, July 29, in a number of cities.
