The Assembly will discuss the new Canadian Peace Alliance report of the People's Commission on Global Security: Canada's Role, a comprehensive alternative foreign and defence policy. The People's Commission organised hearings and special meetings across Canada in June 2000 to gather ideas for the report.
Founded in 1985, the Canadian Peace Alliance (CPA) brings together more than 120 peace-supporting groups across Canada. It is Canada's largest umbrella peace organization. The CPA promotes concerted efforts for disarmament, social and economic justice, environmental sustainability, and other conditions necessary for peace.
